In the days of yesteryear, the new car dealerships made a big deal about the introduction of new models, back when it was possible to notice visible design changes every year. Secrecy was often part of the advertising blitz, so the unveiling of dealer windows in September was an event looked forward to by many. In addition, various plastic promotional models were available, some of which had friction motors inside (run them along the ground and inertia keeps them rolling for awhile.)
