Thanks to Club member Bob Harris for providing
the following additional information, to which he credits an original
1966 Chrysler Parts Catalog for the 1966 Passenger Car, Chrysler part
number 81-690-0678:
Valiant/Barracuda/Dart models ("A-body" cars) were built at
Hamtramck, Los Angeles and St. Louis plants. Hamtramck was the only
plant building the Valiant Signet convertible (VH27), the Barracuda
(BP29), and the Dart convertible (LH27and LP27).
The Hamtramck plant built all Valiant, Barracuda, and Dart model types;
Los Angeles and St Louis built all but those three model types just
mentioned.
All Hamtramck sequence numbers start at 500001 (for theValiant/Barracuda/Dart
models only), and the Los Angeles and St. Louis plant sequence numbers
start at 100001, as do all other passenger cars built at the
Hamtramck plant.
